Planned activities

The project foresaw the analysis of different varieties, farming techniques and the development of mechanical systems for poplar, black locust and eucalyptus.  The supply chain was assessed in 1 ha plantations established in experimental farm of CRA-ING. The final aim was to set suitable systems for mechanization and storage.

The project was aimed at designing a prototype for SRF harvesting able to collect poplar with a basal diameter higher than those currently harvested by machines available on market. The prototype was developed by a company.
