Planned activities

The project was thought to comply the research demands expressed by the  industrial property of the sugar refineries in support of the conversion sugar beet towards the energy crops. It consists of four areas, each of them with different activities:

Area 1–RESEARCH

1.1 Agronomic

Area 2–IMPLEMENTATION AT LOCAL LEVEL

2.1 Mapping areas of deliveries to facilities

2.2 Technical support for the most suitable selection of species and plant variety

2.3 Conversion of company and productive means

2.4 Analysis of the soil, of the C in the soil, heating value and biomass ash

2.5 Monitoring, technical support, data collection

2.6 Planning of deliveries

Area 3–ANALYSIS OF RESULTS

Preparation of economic, energy and environmental budgets. Preparation of technical reports in support of the Administration. Monitoring of the cultivations, processing plants and  biomass buying/selling

Area 4–TRAINING AND INFORMATION

Training for the technicians of the sugar enterprises (by CRA). Training for the farmers (by technicians of the sugar factory) Dissemination of the results
