Planned activities

The project is focused on the possibility of cultivating bioenergy crops on marginal land, unsuitable for food production. Marginal lands are typically characterized by low productivity and reduced economic return or by severe limitations for agricultural use. The use of marginal lands in biomass energy production can favor in the long-term the development of a sustainable bioeconomy aimed at achieving the energy and environmental targets.

CREA-ING will be involved in the WP5. This includes activities on the harvesting of some industrial crops as well as the optimization of the logistic. The WP foresees the progress of technologies and systems suitable for a sustainable cultivation on marginal lands
